Bengatronics is a multi-ethnic, multidisciplinary and inter-national ethno-fusion collective that fosters cross-generational and inter-ethnic understanding through the power of Benga Music. Drawing creative inspiration from the Benga Belt of Kenya (from Kisumu in Western Kenya to Kilifi in South East of Kenya), Bengatronics creates a contemporary flavor of Benga music – one that defies the continued fragmentation of this genre along tribal lines – Luo, Kikuyu, Kalenjin, Kisii, Kamba (benga). Di-V3RS-iTY is a multimedia production conducted by Bengatronics that is powered by the overriding power of Benga music. The production will weave contentious, thorny and taboo narratives of the current Kenyan psychic through music, film, photography, podcast, and fashion.
Bengatronics has been incubated at the Ubunifu Hub in Machakos, Kenya since 2017, where they regularly rehearse and perform. The collective is administered and managed by WIBO Culture Artcellerator, a Community Based Organization that accelerates cultural and creative products for the socio-economic development of its members and their immediate communities.
